RAIDO Kick-off Meeting

This February, the Josef Stefan Research Institute of Slovenia proudly hosted the first consortium meeting of the RAIDO project from February 20th to 22nd, 2024, marking the beginning of a journey toward Trustworthy and Green AI.
The RAIDO project stands at the forefront of innovation, aiming to revolutionize AI through an integrated platform that emphasises the quality and ethics of data and models. This initiative will harness Digital Twins, diffusion models, and cutting-edge methods for data curation and enrichment, ensuring AI models are developed from unbiased, compliant, and representative training data.
In our quest for Green AI, RAIDO introduces data- and compute-efficient models, few- and zero-shot learning, and novel techniques for dataset and model optimization—all designed to minimise energy use and environmental impact. Transparency, explainability, and robustness in AI are not mere buzzwords but foundational pillars, achieved through XAI methods, decentralised blockchain technologies, and innovative feedback mechanisms.

The RAIDO Consortium, a collaboration of 28 partners across academia, industry, SMEs, NGOs, and healthcare, is dedicated to demonstrating the practical impact of these technologies in critical sectors like smart grids, smart farming, healthcare, and robotics for bio-based composites. These real-world applications promise not only to advance the state of the art but also to address pressing societal challenges.
We extend our deepest gratitude to all participants and our host, the Josef Stefan Research Institute, for a successful kick-off. The engagement, expertise, and enthusiasm of everyone involved have laid a strong foundation for RAIDO’s vision of sustainable, ethical AI.
Join us on this exhilarating journey as we pave the way for the next generation of AI, where trustworthiness and sustainability are not just achievable but the standard. Stay tuned for updates and breakthroughs from RAIDO, where every leap forward is a step toward a better, smarter world.
