12th RAIDO Newsletter – March 2026

RAIDO MARCH 2026 NEWSLETTER

Welcome to the March edition of the RAIDO Project newsletter! This month has been one of the most significant milestones in our project’s lifecycle. From the bustling streets of Athens for our 4th Plenary Meeting to the competitive arena of the International Winter AI Olympiad in Ljubljana, the RAIDO spirit of innovation and “Ethics by Design” has been on full display.

SUMMARY

The highlight of March was undoubtedly our 4th Plenary Meeting in Athens, where we solidified our roadmap for the coming months. We also celebrated our involvement in the International Winter AI Olympiad (IAIO 2026), supporting the next generation of AI pioneers. Additionally, we’re currently focusing on delivering D4.2 by the end of April, pushing the boundaries of Trustworthy XAI.

4th PLENARY MEETING IN ATHENS

From March 18–20, 2026, the RAIDO consortium gathered in Athens, Greece, for three days of high-energy collaboration. This meeting was pivotal for gaining clarity and refining our mission for Reliable AI and Data Optimization.

The Highlights:

  • Technical Deep Dives (Days 1 & 2): We navigated through intensive Work Package presentations and Q&A sessions. A major win was the RAIDO Platform Showcase, which gave us a hands-on look at technical flows, task execution, and innovative data preprocessing/distillation tailored for our healthcare, agriculture, and robotics pilots.
  • Ethics by Design Workshop: A standout session led by the Centre for Innovative Human Systems (CIHS) at Trinity College Dublin. This workshop tackled the ethical complexities of AI in niche sectors, featuring expert insights from Vanessa Nurock (UNESCO EVA Chair) and Ribiea Ramzan (Fujitsu).
  • Final Roadmapping (Day 3): We closed the meeting with a unified strategy and actionable steps, ensuring the refinements from our pilot testing are integrated into our next technical milestones..

FOSTERING THE FUTURE: RAIDO at IAIO 2026

RAIDO was honored to sponsor and support the International Winter AI Olympiad (IAIO 2026) in Ljubljana (Feb 23–27).

Consortium Representation:

We were proudly represented by three members of the RAIDO consortium, who served on the Scientific Committee. Witnessing the analytical depth and ethical focus of these young students confirmed that the future of human-centric AI is in excellent hands.

TECHNICAL MILESTONES: D4.2 Work In Progress

We are pleased to announce that we’re currently working on D4.2: Trustworthy XAI & benchmarking progress monitoring. This deliverable represents our ongoing commitment to explainable AI and rigorous benchmarking. You will be able to read the deliverable in more depth when it is accepted and uploaded on our Deliverables page.
